Marks & Spencer, John Lewis, Tesco Coming to Israel

The senior technology advisor to British Prime Minister David Cameron will lead a delegation of 10 chief information officers from leading British retail chains, including Marks & Spencer, Tesco and John Lewis, in a visit to Israel, starting next Sunday. During the four-day visit, they will be exposed to specialized technologies for retail chains that relate to the use of cellular telephones for locating products and executing payments, advanced management of customer relations, financial technologies and unique organizational software.

The delegation is scheduled to meet with representatives of 20 Israeli companies and specialists from the Export Institute and visit relevant research and development centers. Noach Shani, liaison of Israel's economic office in London, noted the great potential for the two countries and those involved in the field, given Britain's leadership in retailing and Israel's leadership in the relevant technology.
