Modest to sharp losses were reported on most of the indices of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange on Thursday. While the indices of companies with good bond yields ended the day with gains ranging between .06 and .22 percent, the TA Composite Index closed at 1,078.53, down .99 percent, and the TA 100 index declined 1.03 percent to 1,076.17, including a .51-percent drop by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The same percentage decline meant a posting of 969.81 for the stocks outside the TA 100.
Worst hit was the biomed index, which fell 3.1 percent to 833.76, while the rest of the technology issues stood at 308.48, down 1.37 percent. The insurance stocks lost 1.91 percent to 1,336.03, as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,110.58, down 1.64 percent, including a 1.18-percent decline to 1,155.22 by the bank index. The communications issues stood at 559.97, down 1.71 percent, and the real-estate stocks declined 1.47 percent to 339.66, while the oil and natural-gas index closed at 1,152.84, down 1.04 percent.
