Shekel, Pound Up; Yen Outpaces Euro; Dollars Mixed

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .122 percent, Thursday, against the other featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list.The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.556, down .224 percent from Wednesday's rate, while the Euro declined .128 percent to 4.6726 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.5351, up .121 percent, while 100 Japanese yen slipped .017 percent to 3.5993 shekels. The Australian dollar was fixed at 3.6361 shekels, up .05 percent, while its Canadian counterpart lost .11 percent to 3.5433 shekels. The South African rand rose .688 percent to NIS .3951, and the Norwegian krone jumped 1.425 percent to .6192 shekels.
