Hareidi Rabbis Call Seminary Girls to Kotel on Friday

Rabbi Aharon Leib Steinman, the leader of the Lithuanian hareidi-religious community in Israel, and Rabbi Ovadia Yoseph, the spiritual advisor of the Sephardic hareidi Shas party, called on thousands of girls studying in hareidi seminaries to take part in a day of prayer at the Western Wall (Kotel) of the Temple in Jerusalem, Friday, as a way to thwart a scheduled service by Women of the Wall to hold Rosh Chodesh services, Friday morning, to usher in the Jewish month of Sivan in the women's section of the Western Wall Plaza. Many find the practices of the Women of the Wall a provocation.

The call was issued following a meeting involving seminary principals in the chambers of the Ashkenazic United Torah Judaism party, reported on Tuesday by Arutz Sheva. The hareidi community plans to present the seminary girls as "the real women of the Wall".
