Water Attack Does Not Dampen Jerusalem Day Parade

Most of Jerusalem is celebrating reunification. But some Arab youth weren't too pleased. Nevertheless, water could not dampen the party. Two minors from the Arab Muslim community were arrested Wednesday near the Shchem Gate in Jerusalem, after spilling water on a group of Jewish people. The annual flag dance parade is currently taking place. Another young Arab resident who tried to prevent the arrest of two, was also arrested. The Shchem Gate is the main entrance to what is currently the Muslim quarter of the Old City. The municipality of Jerusalem and the Israel Antiquities Authority refurbished the narrow alleyways and repaved the streets of the Muslim Quarter and the rest of the Old City after liberating it 46 years ago during the Six Day War.
