A petition by retired officer Asaf Fried to allow a re-enactment of the paratroopers's journey from Ammunition Hill to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem's Old City during the Six-Day War was submitted to the Supreme Court, Monday evening. The petition also seeks permission for a group of worshippers to pray in the plaza of the Tribes Gate (Sha'ar Hashevatim), next to the Temple Mount.
The petition was submitted after police refused permission. Fried occasionally goes up to the holy site. The petition notes that the educational tour is part of his teaching his children about the war's heritage of battles and heroism.
