The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Tuesday-morning trading with modest losses in mixed trading. Slightly less than an hour into the trading, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,087.85, down .05 percent from Monday's close, while the TA 100 slipped .08 percent to 1,086.20, including a .15-percent drop to 1,208.08 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 966.63, up .48 percent.
Leading the gainers was the oil and natural-gas index, which rose .81 percent to 1,160.35, followed by the real-estate issues, which stood at 342.14, up .28 percent. The biomed stocks edged up .06 percent to 861.20, while the rest of the technology index stood at 310.82, down .01 percent. The financial institutions were unchanged at 1,115.82 despite a .15-percent gain to 1,165.50 by the bank issues and a posting of 1,332.14, up .09 percent, by the insurance stocks. The communications index fell .47 percent to 570.48.
