Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu toured the Museum of the Jewish Refugees in Shanghai and the Ohel Moshe synagogue, which was dedicated in 1927 and served the refugees from the Holocaust who fled to the Chinese city.
During the course of the tour, Netanyahu noted that when most of the world closed its doors to Jews, Shanghai was one of the few places which opened its doors. He said since then, the fate of the Jews changed significantly, adding that they have their own country and their own army. He concluded that Jews do not need to beg for another rescue. They can protect themselves.
