It was decided at a preparatory meeting of the Central Committee of the Global March to Jerusalem in Cairo, Tuesday, that there will be a mass march of Arabs from the Palestinian Authority-assigned areas of Judea and Samaria (Shomron) on June 7th as close as they can get to Jerusalem. Marches stand to be directed toward separation barriers and toward the Jordanian-Israeli border, as was the case about a year ago.
The meeting was attended by representatives of various countries. The committee asked Israel's bordering countries to help. Egyptian parliament member Rada Fahmi was selected as the event's main coordinator, replacing Ravhi Halum, who tendered his resignation. Fahmi, a representative of the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party, has expressed anti-Israeli statements on a number of occasions.
