The Hamas Interior Ministry in Gaza announced, Thursday, that it had arrested six Salafist activists on suspicion of stealing weapons and plotting attacks. Four of the men were charged with stealing rockets. Two were charged with trying to attack targets in Gaza. It marked the first time Hamas has talked openly about arresting Salafists.
A leaflet put out, this week, by the jihadist organization "The Shura Council of Jihadists at the ends of Jerusalem", claimed that Hamas was allowing high ranking Egyptian intelligence officers to interrogate the Salafist suspects at the Ansar facility in Gaza. The stress in the interrogations was on the infrastructure of Salafist groups in Gaza and the Sinai Peninsula.
