The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange ended the trading week, Thursday, with modest losses in mixed trading. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,081.30, down .05 percent from Wednesday's close, while the TA 100 declined .03 percent to 1,080.85, despite a .03-percent rise to 1,204.53 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 declined .19 percent to 942.23.
Leading the gainers was the insurance index, which climbed 1.54 percent to 1,310.11 as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,104.88, up .67 percent, including a .72-percent gain to 1,154.31 by the bank issues. The real-estate stocks posted a 341.37 close, up three tenths of a percent. On the other side of the coin, the biomed index lost .93 percent to 853.91, while most of the technology issues stood at 305.89, down .69 percent. The oil and natural-gas stocks did slightly better, losing .68 percent to 1,147.17, and the communications index stood at 572.38, down .49 percent.
