Ayalon Testimony in Lieberman Trial Ends

The testimony of former deputy foreign minister Danny Ayalon in the corruption trial of former foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman ended Thursday afternoon. Lieberman is accused of using undue influence in the naming of Ze'ev Ben-Aryeh to be Israel's ambassador to Latvia after Ben-Aryeh provided Lieberman with information about a police investigation against Lieberman in another case.

Ayalon was the last prosecution witness. The defense is scheduled to open its case next week. Judge Hagit Mack-Kalmanovitch rejected the claim of Lieberman attorney Ya'akov Weinroth that there was a method in Ayalon's behavior every time he had a conflict with Lieberman.
