Gabriel Stone on Display at Israel Museum

In 2000, a Bedouin discovered an ancient Dead Sea stone from the end of the second Temple period, inscribed in ink with an apocalyptic description based on Ezekiel's prophecy of the international declaration of the war to conquer Jerusalem in the End of Days. G-d told Ezekiel to recount how he would descend with His angelic host to come to the miraculous rescue of the city, with the destruction of the enemies of Israel.

The stone, dubbed "The Gabriel Stone" contains the inscription "I am Gabriel", giving an impression of an artifact of monumental religious significance, authored to come across as a heavenly document and give hope to Jews in the times of chaos and confusion that prevailed in the aftermath of the death of King Herod.

The stone is currently on display in a new Israel museum exhibit.
