Chairman of the Meron Council Rabbi Mordecha Halperin demands the establishment of an official state inquiry commission following the "disgraceful collapse of infrastructures at Meron 2013". The outdated sewage system at the tomb compound malfunctioned, and raw sewage ran freely in the street. Additionally, traffic congestion caused tens of thousands of worshippers to be stranded crowded in the heat for hours without sufficient water as they waited for public transportation.
