British Airways Flight Lands Safely with Brake Problem

A British Airways flight from London to Israel, which was scheduled to land, Sunday afternoon, at Ben-Gurion International Airport, did so safely but only on the third pass after a serious malfunction was discovered in the braking system.

After the first attempt, the plane flew over the Mediterranean while the crew examined the problem and the safest options for landing. Emergency forces stood at the ready on the ground and the cabin crew asked for volunteers and doctors to come forward for a worst-case scenario. One passenger told Channel 2 Television that a number of passengers fainted.
