Shekel, US Dollar, Yen Up; Euro, Pound Down

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .133 percent Friday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.604, down .055 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro declined .329 percent to 4.6989 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.5648, down .208 percent, while 100 Japanese yen rose .481 percent to 3.6541 shekels. The Canadian dollar was fixed at 3.5327 shekels, up .181 percent, while its Australian counterpart declined .355 percent to NIS 3.7098, and the South African rand was set at .3937 shekels, down .806 percent.
