Ministers to Consider Author Protection Bill on Sunday

A vote on a endorsement of a bill to protect literature and authors is on Sunday's agenda of the Ministerial Committee on Legislation. Under the legislation, booksellers are not allowed to offer discounts on new books until they have been on the market for 18 months.

The proposal passed its first reading in the last Knesset. Culture Minister Limor Livnat will ask that continuity rules apply to allow the legislation to proceed to the Knesset for its second and third readings.
