U.S. Vice President Joe Biden hosted King Abdullah II of Jordan in Washington on Thursday.
According to a statement from the White House, Biden and the King “discussed how best to advance a political transition to a peaceful, democratic post-Assad Syria where moderates are empowered. The Vice President underscored the strength of the U.S.- Jordanian relationship and noted enduring U.S. support for Jordan.”
The statement added that the King will meet with President Barack Obama on Friday.
