Report: Yeshiva Budget Cuts to Start in August

A budget cut of 340 million shekels for hareidi-religious yeshivas will go into effect in August, according to a Tuesday-morning report by Ma'ariv.

The Ministerial Committee on Equal Burden of Service headed by Science and Technology Minister Ya'akov Perry is expected to formulate an agreed-upon outline regarding increased hareidi military induction in 45 days. Based on the committee's discussions, the cut in the 1.04-billion-shekel budget will leave the yeshivas with 700 million shekels.
