Report: Erdoğan Determined to Visit Gaza

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan intends to visit Gaza in spite of United States Secretary of State John Kerry's request, Sunday, that Erdoğan delay the visit, currently scheduled for the middle of May, according to a Monday-morning report by Kol Yisrael government radio.

A trip at the end of May would coincide with the third anniversary of the Mavi Marmara incident, in which nine Turkish activists were killed after they attacked Israeli commandos who boarded the boat to prevent it from breaking the naval blockade of the Hamas-ruled area. Negotiations are scheduled to begin, Monday, in Turkey on compensation Israel will pay to the families of the activists.
