Former science and technology minister Daniel Hershkowitz will be appointed the next president of Bar-Ilan University, according to a Friday morning report by Kol Yisrael government radio.
Rabbi Professor Hershkowitz was selected by a search committee. The appointment must be approved by schools administrative council and its board of governors. The former chairman of Habayit Hayehudi (Jewish Home-New National Religious Party) is expected to replace Professor Moshe Kaveh - the university's president for the last 18 years - when Kaveh's term comes to an end, in about six months.
