Energy and Water Minister Silvan Shalom met, Thursday, with Norwegian Energy and Petroleum Minister Ola Borten Moe. They discussed the composition of the profit fund for Norway's gas and natural resources, considered the largest in the world at 700 billion dollars. Moe noted that all the investments in the Norwegian fund came from abroad and that three percent of the profits go to the Norwegian government. He also expressed interest in Israeli hi-tech, future cooperation and sharing of information.
Shalom said that Israel studied the Norwegian fund and made adjustments. He asked for information on security, as well as on hiring and training workers. He expressed hapiness on the estabishment of the Israeli on the basis of the Norwegian model, adding, "If we achieve the same successes in another 20 years, Israeli citizens will have benefitted."
