Housing and Construction Minister Uri Ariel called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Thursday, to remove a bill to regulate Bedouin land in the Negev from the agenda of the next meeting of the Ministerial Committee on Legislation, on which Ariel serves. Ariel called for an in-depth discussion of the matter, "due to the far-reaching effects of the program on both the economic and social level and political level".
Ariel added, "The Habayit Hayehudi (Jewish Home-New National Religious Party) faction has many reservations" on which he wants to have open discussion with the ministers concerned. He noted that the previous government had no debate on the final version to be presented for a vote. The minister said he heard resentment from other members of the government about placing the law on the agenda.
