Israeli business mogul Stef Wertheimer is set to open a new industrial park in Nazareth, a mostly Cristian Arab city in Israel's north. The complex will serve both Jewish and Christian Arab Israeli workers. Amdocs will be the first firm to operate a branch at the location.
In 2009 Pope Bendict XVI visited the site of the park and met with Wertheimer and Nazareth Mayor Ramez Jeraisy to discuss Jewish and Arab relations. Wertheimer has also invested in industrial parks in Turkey and in other Israeli periphery areas. The Government Press Office is promoting the opening of the complex as a beneficial project that will attract more Arab employment.
