Students Visit Towns Destroyed in Disengagement

Last Thursday a group of students from Orot College visited Sa-Nur and Mevo Dotan, two communities destroyed in the Disengagement in 2005. The program was part of a pre-Yom Haaztmaut outing. They also viewed the site of an important battle in the Six Day War of 1967 in which Israeli tanks, although outnumbered, successfully halted the Jordanian forces. The head of Land of Israel studies department Dr. Eyal Davidson led the trip. In 2005 the Israeli government forcibly removed the Jewish communities of four towns in northern Samaria including the ones the college visited, along with the Jewish communities of Gaza. Orot College is a school for female students focusing on the field of education. It is located in Elkana.
