Shekel Up; Yen Jumps; US Dollar Outpaces Euro, Pound

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .064 percent, Monday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.627, down .028 percent, while the Euro declined .089 percent to 4.7388 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.5567, down .378 percent, while 100 Japanese yen jumped 1.337 percent to 3.6988 shekels. The Australian dollar plunged 1.106 percent to 3.7808 shekels and its Canadian counterpart was fixed at NIS 3.5522, down .97 percent, while the South African rand declined .887 percent to .4024 shekels.
