Opposition Leader Shelly Yechimovich saluted, Monday, the principles for which Israel's soldiers have fallen. Speaking at a Memorial Day observance in Haifa, the Labor party leader said, "Your dear and loved ones left us of the greatest mental strengths and from a world of values that sometimes seems obvious to us, but which is not obvious and makes us unique. Solidarity, mutual responsibility, societal responsibility, love, family and homeland. Thus, simply, without being ashamed."
Yechimovich continued, "These are not slogans. This is the essence and core of our existence. These are noble reasons, and painful feelings far as east is from west, narrow considerations and interests. So their death, its grief rooted in our hearts but most of all in your heart, and burning deeply every day, is a firm and constant reminder of the human spirit and human morality."
