Suit by Dirani Interrogator Denied

The Tel Aviv District Court rejected, Sunday, a damage suit by "Captain George", who interrogated terrorist Mustapha Dirani, who was abducted to Israel to provide details about air force navigator Ron Arad, whose plane was shot down over Lebanon in 1986 and is officially presumed dead although. Dirani was returned to Lebanon as part of a prisoner exchange but sued the state, claiming he was abused in capitivity.

"Captain George" sued the state for more than five million shekels, claiming he was illegally fired from the military because of the abuse allegations which, he said, were false. The state countered that his suit was filed seven years after the affair, after the statute of limitations had run out.
