Venezuela: Maduro Squeaks by Capriles for Presidency

The Venezuelan Central Elections Commission announced, Monday morning, that Acting President Nicolas Maduro defeated challenger Henrique Capriles by a margin of 50.75 percent to 49.07 percent.

Maduro is considered the political heir of former president Hugo Chavez, an outspoken critic of Israel and ally of Iran, who died of cancer six weeks ago. Russia Today reports Maduro has consented to an audit of the election, requested by Capriles supporters, who claim fraud.
