Shekel Up; Yen Outpaces US Dollar, Pound; Euro Down

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .038 percent, Friday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.628, up .138 percent, while the Euro declined .252 percent to 4.743 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.5778, up .027 percent, while 100 Japanese yen rose .319 percent to 3.65 shekels. The Canadian dollar slipped .15 percent to 3.587 shekels while its Australian counterpart was fixed at NIS 3.8231, down .196 percent, and the South African rand fell .612 percent to .406 shekels.
