Kashrut Alert: Don't Eat Meat-Flavored Fish with Meat

The emergence of hot dogs, sausages and cold cuts which look, smell and taste like meat but are made out of fish has prompted the Chief Rabbinate of Israel to warn people who buy them to inform the people to whom they serve these products that the product is made out of fish and is not to be eaten at the same time as meat under Jewish law, according to the Yeshiva Website.

The warning was issued in response to the question of a hotel's kashrut supervisor, who asked if the fish could be served at a bar where meat was being served.
