Big Name Acts to Play 2013 Israel Festival

The annual Israel Festival will once again feature big name acts from Israel and abroad. Performances in dance, jazz, classical music, Jewish liturgical music and more will be featured. The event is to take place May 23rd - May 29th in Jerusalem. Among the performers will be Grammy award nominated Israeli mandolin player Avi Avital, American clarinet virtuoso Don Byron, Brazilian artist Renato Borghetti and others.

The Israel Festival was founded in 1961 by Aaron Zvi Propes as a summer music festival. Propes was considered the first member of the Betar Zionist Youth Movement and worked closely with Zev Jabotinsky, Menachem Begin and others.
