      Israeli Groups Fight Against Car Crash Statistics

      Over 100 people were treated in the past day for traffic related injuries, according to statistics This does not include Wednesday's massive truck crash near Haifa. Emergency medical personnel have been fighting to save people's lives in such incidents. Warnings have been released due to the higher volume of traffic for Yom HaShoah which took place Monday, Yom Hazikaron, coming next Monday and Yom Haatzmaut scheduled for Tuesday. City planners and traffic experts have also been working to widen roads and add more safety features to streets.

      Several Israeli organizations exist to work for better road safety and to help those affected by crashes. They include:

      Or Yarok (Green Light), The Israel National Road Safety Authority, The Ran Naor Foundation for Advancement of Road Safety Research, Nirsham, a mobile device application for reporting traffic violations, and others.
