Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened trading on Tuesday with modest gains. About 25 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,093.50, up .13 percent, while the TA 100 rose .14 percent to 1,095.13, including a gain of .16 percent to 1,230.38 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 917.78, up .15 percent.
Leading the way was the communications index, which rose .96 percent to 541.79, followed by most of the technology issues, which rose an average of .45 percent to 310.49, while the biomed stocks fell a quarter of a percent to 814.96. The bank index was up .24 percent at 1,139.55 as the financial institutions stood at 1,099.73, up .23 percent, including a .21-percent advance to 1,309.80 by the insurance issues. The oil and natural-gas stocks edged up .12 percent to 1,162.51 and the real-estate index declined .48 percent to 329.41.
