Ukrainian Jew Dina Ostrover was instructed by her family to leap off the train to a concentration camp, and she returned secretly to the ghetto after miraculously surviving the ordeal. She escaped disguised as a Ukrainian, and 20-year old Donia, concealing her Judaism ran a tavern for Nazi soldiers, where she hid a Jewish couple in the attic for 13 months.
Following the liberation she wed Yosef Ostrover in a Cyprus refugee camp and immigrated to Israel, establishing their family of two boys and two grandchildren.
Dina lit the Yad VaShem memorial torch Sunday night.
