Former Knesset speaker Reuven Rivlin inaugurated an exhibit of photographs of Holocaust survivors, Monday, to open observances at the Knesset of Holocaust Remembrance Day. He called on the survivors to continue to tell their story, saying, "Every survivor has a story that must be heard. Every testimony redeems men and women, boys and girls from oblivion, from the dust of the crematoria and the valley of the killing. That's the commandment of telling your child at this time."
Referring to the poverty faced by many survivors, Rivlin continued, "We must allow the survivors to continue to tell the story without the necessities of life defeating them and without their having to face a cruel choice between the duty to tell and looking for food and medicines."
