With international investors joining the trading, the major indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started Monday with modest gains. A little more than an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,091.14, up two tenths of a percent, while the TA 100 rose .19 percent to 1,092.67, including a gain of .08 percent to 1,226.78 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 advanced .54 percent to 916.41.
Leading the sectors was most of the technology index, which stood at 310.94, up .49 percent, while the biomed issues gained .15 percent to 817.59. The oil and natural-gas stocks stood at 1.162.59, up .48 percent, and the communications index rose .39 percent to 531.87. The insurance issues stood at 1,305.13, up .36 percent, as the financial institutions advanced .23 percent to 1,101.08, including a .16-percent rise to 1,143.06 by the bank stocks, and the real-estate index rose a quarter of a percent to 330.34.
