Religious Zionist and Hareidi Yeshiva Heads Meet Again

Rabbis who head yeshivas in the religious Zionist and hareidi-religious communities met this week at the home of Rabbi Simcha Kook in Rechovot to exchange ideas on strengthening and developing Torah, the yeshivas and their students, and how to respond to the newly-formed Israeli government, which is threatening funding of the hareidi schools in an effort to get more students into national service. Both communities could also be affected by funding cuts to balance the budget.

The meeting was the second since the elections that resulted in the formation of the new government and more meetings are expected. A good spirit and many agreements were reported.
