Member of Knesset Aliza Lavie (Yesh Atid) convinced Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz of the Western Wall and the Holy Places, Thursday, that the arrest of members of the Women of the Wall organization for saying the Kaddish prayer at the Western Wall is unnecessary. Jerusalem police chief Yossi Pariente announced, earlier, that the women could expect to be arrested if they did so. She informed Commander Pariente and Anat Hoffman of the Women of the Wall of the understanding reached with Rabbi Rabinowitz.
Doctor Lavie stressed that, in her view, it was a specific solution for a difficult problem which demanded a solution as soon as possible. She repeated her position, "We cannot accept a situation where the Western Wall Plaza becomes a regular vehicle for the battles and conflicts, so I'm working to rearrange the Western Wall plaza so that each and every one can get to the Kotel and pray. The solution can only be achieved through talking, dialogue and understanding between the parties with consideration of sensitivity and detection. It was proven, today, that dialogue is the way that leads to change. "
