The official value of the shekel declined an average of .156, Thursday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.631, up .359 percent, while the Euro rose .235 percent to 4.6497 shekels.
The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.4776, up .133 percent, while 100 Japanese yen plunged 1.8 percent to 3.8022 shekels. The Canadian dollar gained .247 percent to NIS 3.5774, while its Australian counterpart was fixed at 3.7832 shekels, down .277 percent. The South African rand rose .281 percent to NIS .3924 and the Swedish Krona fell .592 percent to .5538 shekels.
