Rabbi Ben-Zion Amar of Shvut Rachel said that the farmers of the neighboring community of Esh Kodesh would continue to defend their land against local agitators. He told Arutz Sheva news on Wednesday that non-Jewish residents of neighboring communities "constantly harass farmers" and "provoke the police."
He complained of instances of agitators uprooting their trees. He also decried this week's pre-dawn raid in which resident of Esh Kodesh were arrested on unclear charges which may be related to clashes between the farmers and the agitators.
"We continue to recommend that residents go only by law, and to turn the army and the police, but they must feel that the army is actually supporting them," he stated. He added that he hoped the Jewish Home party, now a more powerful member of the government coalition would represent their demographic to a greater extent.
