The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange returned from the Passover holiday with modest gains in mixed traiding, Tuesday morning. About half an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,100.46, up .18 percent, while the same percentage increase meant a posting of 1,102.05 for the TA 100, including a .14-percent advance to 1,239.35 for the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 slipped .01 percent to 469.99.
Leading the gainers was the biomed index, which rose .35 percent to 829.10 while the rest of the technology issues stood at 313.16, down .76 percent. The insurance stocks advanced .29 percent to 1,334.19 as the financial institutions stood at 1,124.08, up .06 percent, reflecting a .09-percent decline to 1,156.96 by the bank index. The real-estate issues gained .24 percent to 331.24 while the oil and natural-gas stocks stood at 1,188.36, up .11 percent, and the communications stocks lost four tenths of a percent to 540.21.
