The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange finished the holiday-shortened trading week, Sunday, with modest to moderate losses. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,098.46, down .63 percent, while the TA 100 declined .65 percent to 1,100.04, including a half-percent drop to 1,237.67 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 ended the day at 470.05, down .39 percent.
Worst hit was the insurance index, which fell 1.6 percent to 1,330.27 as the financial issues finished the day at 1,123.40, down 1.07 percent, including a .85-percent decline to 1,158.02 by the bank stocks. The real-estate index stood at 330.44, down 1.48 percent, followed in the loss column by the oil and natural-gas issues, which declined .87 percent to 1,187.06, and the communications stocks, which closed at 542.36, down .58 percent. The biomed index declined two tenths of a percent to 826.17 while the rest of the technology issues slipped .07 percent to 315.56. Because of the seventh day of Passover on Monday, there will be no trading on Monday or Sunday, the eve of the holiday.
