Report: Livni Won't be Able to Negotiate Alone

In spite of the apparent authority given to Justice Minister Tzipi Livni in diplomatic negotiations, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu made sure to set up "security arrangements" that take the teeth out of that authority, according to senior officials in Netanyahu's Likud party, who were cited Friday morning by the Ma'ariv daily. The arrangements call for Netanyahu associate Yitzchak Molcho to be present at all diplomatic meetings. Livni is also obligated to consult with the prime minister before and after every meeting. A sort of "diplomatic mini-cabinet" has been formed, which includes Netanyahu in his roles as prime minister and foreign minister, Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon and Minister Naftali Bennett, defined as a guidance team to outline the direction of Livni's activities.
