Apology does Not Delegitimize Mavi Marmara Action

Justice Minister Tzipi Livni rejected, Sunday, claims that Israel's apology to Turkey for the interception of the Turkish ship Mavi Marmara's attempt to break the Gaza naval blockade harms the commandos who boarded the ship and diverted it to an Israeli port. Nine Turkish citizens died after attacking the commandos in May 2010. Interviewed by Channel 2 Television, Livni made it clear, "All of Israel's apology did not include damage to the legitimacy of the military action to stop the Turkish flotilla. The apology does not harm the morality of the action of the commando unit's soldiers."
