Obama Lays Wreath at Herzl's Tomb

President Barack Obama of the United States placed a wreath at the head of the tomb of Zionist visionary Theodor Herzl in Jerusalem Friday.

He also followed the Jewish tradition of placing a small stone on the black marble edifice and signed the Har Herzl guestbook before proceeding to the graves of Yitzchak and Leah Rabin in the Notables of Israel section of the Har Herzl cemetery. His inscription in the guestbook read, "It is humbling and inspiring to visit and remember the visionary who began the remarkable establishment of the State of Israel. May our two countries possess the same vision and will to secure peace and prosperity for future generations."
