President Barack Obama of the United States told students in Jerusalem, Thursday afternoon, that "Peace is possible." Speaking at the Binyanei Ha'uma International Convention Center, he followed up by noting, "It's not guaranteed. It's not more likely than not. It doesn't seem that way," noting that extremists stand in the way.
Obama said that Arab leaders cannot continue to distract their people regarding Israel, adding that they must recognize Israel, specificly calling on the Palestinian Authority to recognize the Jewish state and its need for security. He also called Israeli settlement activity in Judea and Samaria a barrier to peace.
