The police closed the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem Highway (Route 1) entrance to the capital, Thursday afternoon, ahead of the 5:00 p.m. speech by United States President Barack Obama at the Binyanei Ha'auma International Convention Center.

Traffic was diverted at the Ginot Sakharov exit to Route 9 via the Arazim Tunnels. Those wanting to travel to Tel Aviv must take Highway 443 or other alternatives to Route 1.
