Arabs Protest Against Obama in Mevaseret Adumim

Agitators from the Palestinian Authority assigned areas protested in Mevaseret Adumim, also known as E1. According to news reports, the protesters are expressing their opposition to visiting United States President Barack Obama. Mevaseret Adumim is an open stretch of land located across the highway from Maale Adumim. The area is barren except for a local police station and some small shrubs and plants. It is officially part of the Maale Adumim municipality but politics have held up any residential building. About 500 people of Arabic-Muslim persuasion protested Wednesday afternoon. A previous protest several months ago resulted in their being evicted by the authorities. Mevaseret Adumim was appended to the city by the Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in 1994.
