Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Tuesday trading with modest gains. About 15 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,105.90, up .08 percent, while the same percentage increase meant a posting of 1,106.74 by the TA 100, including a .02-percent advance to 1,244.88 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks outside the TA 100 edged up .03 percent to 472.83.
Leading the gainers was the communications index, which rose .74 percent to 534.48, followed by the insurance issues, which stood at 1,303.84, up .45 percent, as the financial issues advanced .07 percent to 1,129.70 despite a .27-percent decline to 1,182.83 by the bank stocks. The oil and natural-gas index stood at 1,151.78, up .38 percent, while the biomed issues rose .23 percent to 847.89 and the rest of the technology stocks stood at 322.70, up .22 percent. The real-estate index advanced .18 percent to 326.38.
